Intelius and Overlake Service League’s Programs
Intelius, an information-based business firm co-founded by former InfoSpace CEO Naveen Jain, seeks to offer consumers and other businesses with information that is important in making informed decisions and identity protection.
The online company provides a package of services and products such as people finder, background and criminal checks, ID theft security, and employment screens. With Intelius’ information, business employers can now perform more efficient screens on job applicants, users can do history checks on child guardians as well as contractors, and other consumers can easily track down their long-lost acquaintances and relatives.
In addition, Intelius has been even more successful due to its support and commitment in social responsibilities. The company, which is based in Bellevue, Washington, assures that they give back to the community each year. As a matter of fact, it has contributed about $210,000 to national and local nonprofits just last year, setting a new company record.
One of the many beneficiaries of the Intelius‘ humanitarian endeavors is the nonprofit Overlake Service League. This organization operates directly with the community so as to address the immediate needs of families and persons who are situated in the Bellevue School District area.
Since the association’s establishment in 1911, the Overlake Service League proffers the following programs: Thrift Shop, Educational Grants, Youth Programs, and Human Services. The Thrift Shop is situated in Bellevue Square and functions as Overlake’s source of monetary support for the various programs it offers.
The organization’s Youth Programs aims to support the basic needs of children like food, clothing, enhancement programs, eye care, and education.
Human Services, however, is sorted out into categories like Emergency Assistance, which supplies the community’s needs such as medical care, food, clothing and eviction security. Another program is the Family Assistance, which gives out daycare services, transportation and clothing. Holiday Programs are also provided, with an Adopt-a-Family initiative that lets businesses and families help poverty-stricken homes by donating food supplies for Christmas or Thanksgiving seasons. Lastly, the Partnership for Independence program functions as an educational support and covers all other daily needs of young students like insurance, food, and rent.
